behind the brand,
We are a duo of Landscape Architects specialising in residential garden design.
Creatively drawn together to create lasting landscapes catered specifically for modern gardeners.
Our combined experience in varying degrees of land size, environment and mediums help fuel our passion for reimagining small spaces as the development of urban cities continue to grow.
As designers, we obsess over meticulous details, and are more often than not, lost in the art of plant compositions, complementary pairings and spatial exploration.
We view urban landscapes as a new canvas & medium to relish in utilising small spaces and adding fresh foliage and texture to suit various apertures from the home.
at studio sown,
we define ourselves as a brand embodying a visual assortment of texture, foliage and forms.
with a background in residential landscape design, we provide design solutions for modern gardeners seeking to rekindle their connection to nature.
Recognising the challenges often associated with gardening, we empathise wholeheartedly.
Our solutions are crafted with the intent to cater to the contemporary homeowner's desire for low-maintenance, seamlessly integrated landscapes, no matter the scale.
Drawing inspiration from the innate beauty of our surroundings, we weave the natural allure of the landscape into every aspect of our design process, allowing it to influence our palettes and resulting creations.
We believe in transparency and collaboration, and are thrilled to share our journey, methodologies and brand exploration with you.
every project reflects our dedication to delivering timeless landscapes encapsulating our commitment to providing design solutions tailored to the needs of modern gardeners.
every design process begins with our curated blend of textures, forms and foliage.
we adapt and are constantly evolving to redefine the traditional notion of a private garden.

textures
We often begin by incorporating interest to a minimal palette through the exploration of one material. Breathing in new life to texture by exploring unique cuts and formats of the same material exposes its raw finish, adding life to a flat plane.

forms
Drawing formality through our gardens, we love adding sculpture to enhance and introduce depth and function to an innate object, serving duality in its usage. Pairing complementary elements to soft plants and landscaping help balance site hierarchy.

foliage
As a final course, we believe tonality, leaf shape, forms and sizes directly influence the art of palette curation. As malleable as they are, plants make a statement in the environment they are placed in, allowing for a gentle blend of edges, materials and compositions.
